Happy New Year! I’m frankly suprised it took me this long to put something up for the new year, but I’ve been busy at work and busy at home as well.
First off was a visit to the annual Magfest show in Washington, DC at the National Harbor.
Got to play a bunch of games, enjoy some cosplay and people watching, picked up a couple things in the market, and even took my nephew this year; I think he was blown away with how much there was going on there!
Last but not least, one of the doohickeys I brought back with me was a “Swadge” – an electronic badge they sell. It’s based on the ESP8266 and features a few games, an oled screen, leds, and an accelerometer. It runs on a pair of AA batteries mounted on the back. You can find more info about the swadges <<here>>, and I’m hoping I can fool around with it as an ESP8266 dev kit.
You can find more information about the Magfest show at their web site here: https://super.magfest.org/. Likewise you can find a lot more pics and post about it by search for #magfest2020 amongst other hashtags.
