Windows 10 Update Notifications: Broken

On the business side of things, it seems that when Windows 10 checks in with a WSUS server (internal Windows update server), Windows 10 does not notify users when updates are available. I spent a solid day working on this, thinking that perhaps I did something in a group policy somewhere that caused it, but lo and behold, even taking a freshly imaged Windows 10 1903 computer, with only a (new) WSUS group policy still didn’t work properly.

Finally upgraded my Apple TV to AppleTV 4k

So yeah, the guy who practically -never- watches TV, finally broke down and bought a newer AppleTV 4k to replace my gen3 AppleTV.

I held off buying new, since I don’t really watch TV, I don’t really use it “that much”, however with winter kicking in I’ve been finding myself watching more Youtube vids, and with a new Pluralsight subscription thanks to a black friday deal, wanting to watch some courses.

This day last year (2018) I took my nephew to the city, and we went to watch the Wanamaker Light Show. As we waited a gentleman offered to show us the organ console up close, and we got to hang out and watch the light show from the console, then witness the finale get played on the mighty Wanamaker organ in Philadelphia, literally the largest fully-functional musical instrument on the planet…

The BBS REBOOT Movement – Let’s Do It!

(Feeling nostalgic)

While I know BBSes still exist in modern telnet form, and I’m sure even a few (at least one of which I used merely a couple years ago) with real modem and phone line connectivity, I really long for my BBS days where I signed in, played some door games, sent a bunch of messages, and tried downloading Doom for the 12th time (MOM PUT THE PHONE DOWN!).
